complex web with integrating control systems, such as the reproductive
regulatory network. At times we have been on our hands and knees
looking at grains of sand one at a time. At other times, we have climbed
up a few hundred meters to get a better view of the beach. In the next
chapter, we will go to 10,000 meters, and I will give a larger overview of
the regulatory architecture of pollen hoarding from the genotype to the
social phenotype.
