The second-floor shear wall forces can now be added to the second-floor dia-
phragm for the final forces along the offset wall lines (see Fig. 12.13). Although shear
walls SW2 and SW4 are in vertical alignment, not all the shear from SW2 can be added
directly to SW4 because the walls at the first floor are still designed to share all the
forces as a unit.
