All the applicable gravity loads should be included in the calculation of the over-
turning forces with the appropriate load factors and load combinations outlined in
ASCE 7-05 Section 2.3 or 2.4. The chord and boundary member force diagrams are plot-
ted using the method described in Chap. 3 and are shown on the right of Fig. 7.7. For
loading in the longitudinal direction (strut action), the free body of the wall is shown in
Fig. 7.8.
