You will find one of NZ's most beloved brewery-taverns halfway between
Takaka and Collingwood. The Mussel Inn is rustic NZ at its most genuine, complete with
creaking timbers, a rambling beer garden with a brazier, live music, and hearty,
homemade food. Sup a handle or two of 'Captain Cooker', a brown beer brewed natur-
ally with manuka, or the delicious 'Bitter Ass'.

Beyond the gates
you'll find good food such as sandwiches, chowder and meaty mains served in a relaxed

a-leg open mike Thursdays.
