Laid-back Raglan may well be NZ's perfect surfing town. It's small enough to have es-
caped mass development, but it's big enough to exhibit signs of life including good eater-
ies and a bar that attracts big-name bands in summer. Along with the famous surf spots to
the south, the harbour just begs to be kayaked upon. There's also an excellent arts scene,
with several galleries and shops worthy of perusal.
