The passenger-only ferry runs between Bluff
and Oban (adult/child $75/38 one way) up to four times daily (reduced in winter). Book a
few days ahead in summer. The crossing takes one hour and can be a rough ride. The
company also runs a shuttle between Bluff and Invercargill (adult/child $24/12) with
pick-ups and drop-offs in Invercargill at the i-SITE, Tuatara Backpackers and Invercar-
gill Airport. Cars and campervans can be stored in a secure car park at Bluff for an addi-
tional cost.
A shuttle also runs between Bluff and Queenstown (adult/child $73/36), and Bluff and
Te Anau (adult/child $73/36) with pick-up and drop-off at the Real Journeys offices.
Getting Around
Water taxis offer pick-ups and drop-offs to remote parts of the island - a handy service
for trampers. The taxis also service Ulva Island (return $25).
