Field tests results showed water-column separation and the entrance of air into
pipeline have been happened. Results showed that at point P25:J28 of Rasht city water-
pipeline, air was interred to pipeline. Maximum volume of penetrated air was 198.483
(m³) and current flow was 2.666 (m³.s - ¹). But in the second case, water-column separa-
tion did not happen. This was the effect of air release from the leakage location. It is
noted that Max. Transient Pressure line was completely over the steady flow Pressure
line. Maximum Pressure was 156.181(m). This was too high pressure for old piping
and it must be consider as hazard for piping (Rasht city water-pipeline transmission
line with surge tank and in leakage condition).
