An important hub for ferry links, Zadar enjoys the convenience of being located in the
middle of the country and also near the coast. To that effect it is the place to come if you
need to get somewhere else. But its also the place where you'll discover a myriad of unique
historic and modern attractions, so don't leave straightaway. Zadar is Croatia's fifth largest
city and, like many of its major cities, has a well-preserved medieval Old Town situated on
the coast, while the more modern housing and commercial zones stretch inland. With its
cafes, restaurants, museums, historic monuments and proximity to national parks, there is
plenty to suit everyone no matter what your interests.
