pedestrianized, with longtang opening out onto a central plaza, Xintiandi is a great

place to wind down or linger over a coffee, with upscale restaurants and shops and
plenty of outside seating for people watching. Access is subtly but strictly
controlled, with security guards keeping the riffraff out, so there aren't even any
art students to hassle you. The easiest way to get here is to take the metro to
Huangpi Nan Lu and walk south for five minutes.
