Pudong
Pudong is rather soulless, and the
most notable restaurants are those
attached to the swanky hotels. For
cheap eats, try the Superbrand Mall or
the basement food court of the Jinmao
Tower (see p.90).

and odd combinations abound - a foie gras
lollipop and a sardine mousse, for example.
All very entertaining if you can afford it, and
it's certainly one of the better of the destina-
tion restaurants. There are only set menus,
which start at ¥480.

This slickly designed place is the best of the
hotel buffets and is especially popular for
Sunday brunch. All-you-can-eat and, with
ten show kitchens, there's an enormous
choice - for ¥268 plus fifteen percent
service charge. Arrive hungry.

contrasts with the grandiloquence of the
venue, which has an amazing view of the
