Creating a game's identity
As you already know from the first chapter, a good application icon is one of the sig-
nificant ways to make a name on an app store. The gesture games we were talking
about should have a simple identity, and the main icon has to demonstrate the various
forms of gestures involved in the game process. Thus, a gesture symbol can be used
as a general composition element.
A background should express the mood and the graphic style of the game; in our
case, the most interesting results can be achieved for Buttons and Purr, because
these games' scenarios have very vivid graphic styles, which are full of amazing de-
tails. The cutest one is of course Purr; character-based icons are always very attract-
ive and compel a lot of attention. Clear gestures, at their turn, have their own advant-
ages because they can look great on minimalistic iOS 7 screens.
