Start from either the parking lot at the tennis courts or the pool
house. If starting at the tennis courts, head to the east a short
100 to 200 feet toward the pool house parking lot. From the
pool house parking lot, head to the north toward the woods.
You will see a brown sign with a hiker logo on it. Duck into the
woods here. The trail has blue blazes and travels through thick
“caves” of azalea, rhododendron, and holly.

The trail appears to Y. Turn to the right (northeast); straight is a
dead-end game trail. Just after the turn, cross a short bridge
over Sharp's Creek.

The trail passes a nice cascade in the stream to the right
(southwest) and heads downhill on wooden railroad tie steps. In
less than 0.1 mile, pass an impressive rock shelter on the left
(east). The pool house can be seen through the trees uphill to
your right.

Come to the intersection of the DeSoto Scout Trail and the Blue
Trail. The Blue Trail continues off to the right (west). The DST is
blazed in yellow, with an occasional yellow-and-red DST sign
hung on a tree. Follow the yellow blazes of the DST to the left
(east).

Pass a nice view high above the West Fork of Little River and
its canyon to the east. In less than 0.1 mile, arrive at a CCC
Trail Shelter with an impressive view of the canyon and river
below. Turn around here and head back to the Blue Trail /
DeSoto Scout Trail intersection you passed at mile 0.4.

Back at the Blue/DST intersection, turn left (west) and head
steeply downhill on the joined Blue/DST (the path is blazed
both blue and yellow here).

At the bottom of the hill, cross a 20-foot bridge over Sharp's
Creek. Following the bridge, the Blue Trail heads uphill to the
right (northwest); the DST turns left (southwest). Turn left onto
