Start from the southeast end of the Lake Chinnabee Recreation
Area at the information kiosk. The trail is a narrow dirt and rock
footpath through here as it follows Chinnabee Creek.

Pass a sign pointing to the right that marks the turn for the
Lakeshore Loop Trail. Continue straight and in 10 feet pass a
stone marker recognizing Boy Scout Troop 29 for building the
trail.

Pass a sign on the right showing the turn for the Skyway Loop
Trail. Continue straight (southeast) and in 50 feet pass a sign
giving mileages to Devil's Den (0.5 mile), Cheaha Falls Shelter
(3.0 miles), Turnipseed (4.0 miles), and the Pinhoti Trail (6.0
miles). Continue straight to the southeast.

Begin climbing higher and higher on a series of wood and stone
steps.

At the top of the climb, arrive at a 75- to 100-foot wooden walk-
way clinging onto the rock wall.

Devil's Den gorge is to your right down below. Spectacular
views. The trail returns to a dirt and rock bed and levels out
here.

After climbing a moderate hillside, arrive at the Cheaha Falls
Shelter. Nice views of the mountains here, especially early
morning. Continue straight to the southeast.

Arrive at Cheaha Falls. Feel free to explore, but be careful on
the rocky bluffs and crossing the stream. When ready, turn
around and retrace your steps to the trailhead.
