There are three other options you can consider when hiking the Chinnabee Si-
lent Trail. The first is extending the trip all the way to the Turnipseed parking
area. This would require either a shuttle vehicle if you weren't planning on spend-
ing the night or hiking back the way you came (that would be a 12-mile out-and-
back).
A second option, and one I have done many times, is a single overnight back-
packing trip from Lake Chinnabee to the Cheaha Falls Shelter.
The third option is a weekend backpacking trip using the Chinnabee Trail, the
Pinhoti Trail, and the Skyway Loop Trail to make one incredible loop. Take the
Chinnabee all the way to the Turnipseed parking area, where it intersects with the
Pinhoti Trail, then take the Pinhoti to the Skyway Loop Trail, and Skyway back to
Lake Chinnabee, a hike of about 17 miles with some good views along the Sky-
way Loop Trail.
