Come up behind a sign that reads “Barton's Beach” (arrow
pointing to left) / “Secret Lake Trail” (arrow pointing to right).
Take a right (west). ( Option: The Barton's Beach Trail (to the
south) is a short, 0.1-mile trail to the only sand and gravel
beach on the Cahaba River.)

Come up behind a sign that reads “Welcome to Barton's Beach
Preserve, the Nature Conservancy of Alabama.” Just after the
sign the trail crosses over a stream.

Come to a locked metal gate with a sign that says “Barton's
Beach Cahaba River Preserve.” There is a hiker entrance on
the left to walk through.

Arrive at the dirt road that led you into the park. A picnic pavil-
ion with restrooms is in front of you (east). Follow the dirt road
back to the parking lot.

Arrive back at the parking lot.
