In-Depth Information
Some of Lance Wyman's designs for the 1968 Olympic Games held in Mexico City. The ticket
is an excellent example of designing for an international audience. The entrance, row and seat
numbers are all communicated through pictograms rather than text.
Internationalism
We live in a global economy and information is disseminated all over the world. One
challenge that designers face is that of the international audience. How do you com-
municate to billions of people worldwide in several languages and still be costeffi-
cient? This is a very difficult issue to resolve. One method is to use minimal text and
instead employ imagery, charts, diagrams and other visual forms as the main method
of delivery.
