Example of persona: Iris (age 79)
Iris is a widow. She lives just outside the city centre in a middle-class area with lots of
greenery. She lives alone and suffers from arthritis. Since her children have grown up
and moved out she spends a lot of time alone. She loves to read and regularly visits
the library. Her eyesight is not what it used to be and she needs strong spectacles to
be able to read. She is currently waiting for a cataract operation, which should im-
prove her sight. She likes to spend time with her family and regularly travels on pub-
lic transport to visit relatives. She isn't very good with technology, although she tries.
Quite often her family have to leave simple instructions on how to use the DVD play-
er and complicated gadgets. Her health is a worry to her family and they keep in touch
as regularly as they can.
