The final presentation of these garments was through an exhibition shown at the Ars
Electronica Festival in Linz in 2007. Ten unique sweaters were produced as sample
outputs of the News Knitter project. Following this first exhibition, News Knitter was
exhibited all around the world, including at the electronic arts festivals Siggraph and
Isea.
This project proves that you shouldn't be afraid to seek stimulation from unusual or
unrelated sources. Although you may have to adapt or compromise your interpret-
ation of them within the design process, the resulting solution turns out to be more
engaging and unique if you look beyond the obvious places for inspiration.
