Osoyoos
Osoyoos lies at the bottom of the valley,
fl anked on one side by Osoyoos Lake
and on the other by verdant slopes
decked with orchards. It is located next
to the U.S. border, in an arid climate
more reminiscent of a Southwestern
desert, or even southern Italy, than a
Canadian town. The main attraction
here is the exceptionally warm lake,
where one can enjoy a variety of water
sports during summer.
A tiny desert , made up of sage
and antelope brush grasslands, pokes
its toe into the Southern Okanagan
Valley. It is an amazing sight in this
part of Canada, and is the only one in
the country. The unique wildlife and
vegetation here bear witness to nature's
