The Royal British Columbia
Museum provides an overview
of the history of the city and the vari-
ous peoples that have inhabited the
province. The spectacular First Peoples
exhibit begins with historical artifacts
juxtaposed alongside some contem-
porary art, like that of Musqueam artist
Susan Point, to demonstrate the roots
and evolution of Northwest Coast art of
the type that can be found in the re-
gion's galleries, hotels and restaurants.
Throughout the exhibit, there are clear
distinctions between coastal and inter-
ior peoples and pre- and post-contact
periods.
