East Vancouver , not to be confused with the Downtown Eastside,
includes the area east of Ontario Street (south of False Creek) and is
centred on Commercial Drive.
Downtown takes over where the West End leaves off and extends
east to Main Street, on the north side of False Creek.
The West End stretches from Stanley Park in the west to Burrard
Street in the east. Georgia Street is the northern boundary and English
Bay the southern boundary. Beyond these areas is Vancouver's down-
town.
Stanley Park is bounded by Burrard Inlet everywhere except to the
east, where it is bounded by the West End.
Burrard Inlet separates North Vancouver and West Vancouver
from the city of Vancouver.
False Creek separates the downtown area from the West Side, but
three bridges—Burrard, Granville Street and Cambie—make the
separation seem more psychological than geographical.
The West Side , not to be confused with the West End, is located
south of False Creek. It includes everything west of Ontario Street,
including the communities of Fairview and Kitsilano, as well as the
University Endowment Lands.
