the Ice Age, and includes a display of
pictographs by the province's earliest
Aboriginal peoples. One highlight is the
Syncrude Gallery of Aboriginal Culture,
which explores the 11,000-year history
of Aboriginal people in an interesting
multimedia exhibit. The habitat gal-
lery reproduces Alberta's four natural
regions while the Bug Room is abuzz
with exotic live insects.
The four glass-pyramid greenhouses
of the Muttart Conservatory
are another important landmark in
Edmonton's skyline. Flourishing be-
neath three of these pyramids are fl oral
displays of arid, temperate and tropical
climates, respectively. Every month a
new, vivid fl oral display is put together
under the fourth pyramid.
Also north of the river is the TELUS
World of Science , a recently ex-
panded science museum which offers
all sorts of fascinating interactive exhib-
its that never fail to entertain. Visitors
can discover how their bodies work
through 3-D models or solve a crime
West of downtown and north of the
river is the Royal Alberta Museum .
