French trappers. He led expeditions throughout the north of what
are today Alberta and British Columbia, and followed the Smoky,
Athabasca and Fraser rivers. He also crossed the Yellowhead Pass and
established his famous cache of fur in a place now known as Tête
Jaune Cache, at the junction of highways 5 and 16 (the Yellowhead
Highway, which also bears his nickname). Bostonais was eventually
killed by the Beaver, an Aboriginal people, in 1827.
