Aboriginal settlements, including cloth-
ing, tools and jewellery. They also learn
about the history of certain local heroes
and famous explorers like Bill Peyto, as
well as that of the railway and the town
of Banff. Personal effects and clothing
that once belonged to notable local
fi gures are exhibited. The museum also
houses a painting gallery and extensive
archives, for those who wish to learn
more about the region.
Created in 1933, the Banff Centre
is the home of the Banff Centre of the
Arts. Every summer, this renowned
cultural centre hosts the Banff Arts
Festival, which attracts numerous art-
ists in the fi elds of dance, opera, jazz
and theatre.
Their way of life, rituals and hunting
techniques are explained, and various
tools they used are displayed.
The Whyte Museum of the Canadian
Rockies relates the history of
the Canadian Rockies. Here, museum-
goers will discover archaeological fi nd-
ings from ancient Kootenay and Stoney
