Today, the three villages are mainly
known for the Ksan Historical Village
and Museum , a reconstruction
of a Gitksan village that shows the way
of life and culture of this ancestral com-
munity. Here, visitors get a chance to
admire their houses and totem poles,
watch artists at work and even try trad-
itional dishes.

An interesting attraction in Terrace is
the Heritage Park Museum , an
open-air museum which deals with
the history of the pioneers. There are
a number of period buildings here, in-
cluding a hotel, a barn, a theatre and six
log cabins. Most date from 1910.
Terrace
Terrace is one of the larger towns on
the Yellowhead Highway. It lies on the
banks of the magnifi cent Skeena River,
the second largest river in the province
after the Fraser, and is surrounded by
