Making changes to the report and placing it on the
Report Server
Report data and even the metadata may change over time. However, Report Builder
as well as SSDT can make changes to the report and put it back on the Report Server.
While using Windows Azure SQL Reporting, it is advisable to observe the following:
• As there are costs involved in storage, bandwidth, and hosting you will have
to make the decision to optimize the data used in the reports as well as the
uptime of the report on the server.
• Unless your business warrants it, locate all report-related items in the same
data center (for example, the data center Northeast ). This reduces the
latency in report rendering, as well as better performance.
• Get only the data you need for the report to reduce traffic and storage.
Let us modify the preceding report by adding a column to the right of Age , and
create an expression for that column, as shown in the following screenshot:
