In-Depth Information
Creating a Power View
In the previous section, we have seen how we can create a tabular model using SSAS
2012 based on a Northwind database in SQL Server 2012 using SQL Server Data
Tools. In the following we will connect to this model from SharePoint Server 2010
and then create a Power View report.
In this section a number of features are described that the reader should be able
to carry out using the steps as a guide. It is possible that the reader may be using
a different BISM data source but the concept is the same. The different features
described here are:
• Multiple views and view navigation
• Interactive highlighting
• Interactive filtering and sorting
• Visualization as a card
• Tiles visualization
• Slicers
• Filtering and advanced filtering
• Scatter and bubble charts
• View navigation
• Save, do, undo, and refresh
Hands-on exercise 6.4 - connecting to the
