Figure 8-19: In Windows environment the machine name can be found
by right-clicking “My Computer” then clicking “Properties”. In the
“System Properties”, click on “Computer Name” tab.
The parameters defined in the Figure 8-18 will take your client
application to the listener running on the machine
“xeon.apps.selfip.net” at port 1521. Your client application also
has to convey to that listener which database on that machine
you want him to bequeath the connection. As there are chances,
the server might be having more than one Oracle databases
running on the same machine.
