Storyboards
Another part of the design phase would be storyboards. These are critical for
planning out cut scenes, but can be used to show level progressions as well. The
screenshot in the following is a storyboard I created for one of my games back in
2010. This was for one of the final levels. It starts off with a quick cutscene , then
moves on to each stage of the level. At the top of the storyboard, you have all the
details of the page, such as the date it was created on, the name of the level or game
you're working on, and the scene.
Above each board, you have a description, and below you can write comments such
as, "Shoot padlock on door to open, door flies open to reveal hordes of zombies."
