Recently, an interesting approximation of the roots of a second-order
equation, that can be profitably used to find poles and zeros of transfer
functions, has been proposed [R02].
The approximations of equation
are derived in ranges of
parameter
x
defined as
and hence are different for different values of
x.
The roots summarised in
Table A.1, show an error always lower than 10%.
