The tables show similar performance of the algorithms as in the previous set of simulations,
namely:

Insignificant differences in case of positive pressures.
-
General compliance of the results between 'pdd3' and 'pdd5' variant.
-
Compliance of the results between 'pdd3' and 'pdd4' variant in case the pressures are
above the lower threshold value.
-
Compliance of the results between 'pdd2' and 'pdd4' variant in case the pressures are
below the lower threshold value.
Furthermore, it becomes obvious that the value of total available demand ('Qtot' in the tables)
will depend on the selection of the lower threshold value, which was for the calculations
presented in Tables 3.11 to 3.15 set at
PDD
min
= -10 mwc. The difference in the results can be
observed comparing the 'pdd4' values in Table 3.14 and 3.16, and also those in Table 3.15
and 3.17.
3.7
NETWORKS OF COMBINED CONFIGURATION
The previous calculations have been conducted on a simple, yet a fully looped network. Such
network cannot be decomposed during failure analyses in a way that would affect its
integrity, as well as there is a lesser chance that this will happen in the PDD-calculations
where the layout is reconfigured due to negative pressures. The problem of convergence and
peculiar results can however arise in case of layouts where branched and looped
configurations have been combined such as the one shown in Figure 3.15.
