In a very recent experiment, Suman and coworkers [117] used
Morinda
citrifolia
root extract for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles and concluded
that functional groups like l avonoids and terpenoids present in
M. citri-
folia
root are responsible for capping and stabilization of silver nanopar-
ticles. Structures of some of the phytoconstituents used in the synthesis of
nanoparticles are shown in Figure 10.2.
