Comparing the outputs for the three heavy clays products groups, it was
concluded that the highest CS and VMC , and the lowest WA and WLF were
optimal for rooi ng tiles production.
h e objective function, regarding SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 /Fe 2 O 3 /CaO content were
shown in the surface plots, for Group I (i gure 4.3). Objective function
gained values between 0.6 and 0.7 on these plots, and the obtained qua-
dratic surface varied depending on the variables used from “peak-type”
(for SiO 2 vs. Al 2 O 3 graph), “saddle-type” (for SiO 2 vs. Fe 2 O 3 ), and “rising
ridge” (for SiO 2 vs. CaO, Al 2 O 3 vs. Fe 2 O 3 , Al 2 O 3 vs. CaO, and Fe 2 O 3 vs. CaO).
