EXCURSION TO MACAU
Macau, the final bastion of Portugal's great 16th-century empire, is much more than just a
quirk of history. Here, where East and West first met, parts of the enclave still beautifully
combine a taste of Asia with something of the sunny atmosphere of the Mediterranean. In its
21st-century incarnation, Macau has also taken on some of the exuberance of Las Vegas,
thanks to the excitement that the new casino developments and booming visitor numbers
