In-Depth Information
A picturesque bay on the Sai Kung peninsula
Ming Tang-Evans/Apa Publications
From the nearby ferry pier you can catch a boat to Kau Sai Chau , an island with a pub-
lic golf course. Tap Mun is a more remote island, but can be reached via the 94 bus and
ferry from Wong Shek Pier; though barely populated, it has a seafood restaurant.
Staying on the peninsula, the Jockey Club Wong Shek Water Sports Centre hires out
kayaks, windsurfboards and dinghies if you are appropriately qualified, and there are two
easy family trails that allow you to take in the scenery.
OUTLYING ISLANDS
Around Hong Kong there are more than 235 outlying islands. Many are uninhabited or
home to very small communities. The major islands of Lantau, Cheung Chau and Lamma
are full of fascinating contrasts and it is worth setting aside a couple of half days to visit.
