Across the road from the temple, steps on the aptly named Ladder Street lead down to
Upper Lascar Row, popularly known as Cat Street , for more antiques and curio shops. The
nickname apparently refers to the cat burglars who once sold their stolen goods here. Below
Cat Street, on Lok Ku Road, junk shops promise hidden vintage treasure.
