menu of Lebanese specialities, including shawarma and lahme bil agine (a kind of Lebanese
pizza). The home-made hummus is the best in Hong Kong. Ideal for lunch.
The Grand Stage $$ 2/F Western Market, 323 Des Voeux Road, Sheung Wan, tel: 2815
2311 , daily 11.30am-3pm, 7pm-midnight. This good Cantonese restaurant is located in an
attractive Western Market building that dates back to 1906. Great for dim sum or lunch after
exploring historic Sheung Wan. After lunch some tables are pushed back and ballroom dan-
cers take to the floor.
Habibi Café $-$$ 112-114 Wellington Street, Central, tel: 2544 3886,
www.habibi.com.hk , daily 11am-midnight. This tiny café offers authentic Egyptian food
with a selection of hot and cold meze, tasty lamb shashlik, moussaka and plenty of vegetari-
an choices. Its sister restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong (Habibi, 1/F, Grand Progress Building) of-
fers equally excellent food in a more spacious setting, plus belly dancing.

This Indonesian restaurant first opened in 1968 - hence the name - but has had a facelift
and is now a pretty funky joint. It serves authentic Indonesian food, presented in a modern
way, including nasi goring and chicken curry.

south India. The richly decorated restaurant serves a good-value lunch.

panyaki and sushi delicacies. The à la carte menu features Kyoto-style cuisine; grilled cod-
