Talladega National Forest Cheaha Area
To reach Cheaha State Park from the west, turn east from SH 21 onto Talladega County
Road 96, which is paved, and CR 96 will take you to County Road 42; there are signs on SH
21 and CR 96 indicating where to turn. Follow this winding road until you reach the park;
watch out for log trucks. From the northeast, take US 431 south from its intersection with
I-20; about 4 miles later, turn right onto SH 49, the Talladega Scenic Drive, which will take
you directly into the park. From the southeast, take SH 49 north out of Lineville from its in-
tersection with SH 9; this portion of SH 49, which is not part of the designated scenic drive
will dead-end into the scenic drive; turn left and go on into the park.
