“The i ne tuning of the overall picture really plays a part in the
audience experience. You are looking for shots that have the best
story and the best imagery. And that the edit is the best that we
can get from the material we have. For concert events, in general, I
want to see dailies if I am shooting more than one night. I want to
know what angles work. I may have captured a lot of material but
I may also have been changing settings on the l y as I'm shooting.
For example, if I have a tight shot from the left on the i rst night
at a particular point in the show, I may want to get a wide of that
angle the next night. I want to make sure I have a lot of different
angles at any given time for the editor to cut to. Then I want to see
the show in multicam 3D. I want to see all 8 or 12 or 16 angles in
3D at once. You can do that now in 3D. It makes more sense for us
to scan everything at once and look for things that look the best. If
you shoot more than one night then you need to ask: did the artist
