Glossary
3D Frames Technically correct, human viewable image pairs.
3D Post-Production A collection of workl ows dedicated to managing,
moving and manipulating pairs of images to achieve a visual product
that creates illusion of depth, maximizes comfort and continuity and
rel ects creative intent of the i lmmakers.
Area of Interest The place storytellers want (or expect) you to look during
the course of a shot, scene or sequence.
Artifact A perceptible issue in imagery that cannot be otherwise identii ed
or explained.
Binocular Vision The experience most people have when seeing with two
eyes. 3D simulates binocular vision.
Color Balancing Manipulating L and R color to provide a baseline for
creative color work.
Color Review Report
A document rel ecting current prioritized list of color
issues.
Color Script
A document outlining the color story for each shot, scene and
sequence.
Compressed
Imagery that has been treated so that it creates smaller data
packages.
Conform 3D conform consists of swapping low-resolution (or proxy) imagery
for high-resolution (or source) imagery to create i nal deliverables.
Continuity The ability to keep the audience or viewer within the intended
story or experience of the show.
Converged Image Capture Imagery captured using two cameras angled
toward one another.
Conversion 3D generated by creating a second eye from a single image
path (Compare to Natively-Shot 3D).
