We consider some of the major tools used in visual effects in Chapter 9 3D
Post Tool Directory. These tools can generate imagery from two points of
view as required by 3D. The core question to answer is: Does the tool do
what you need it to do for your show given the resources available?
Key questions the VFX team can ask about techniques for each process area
in the VFX workl ow are shown in Figure 7.6.
7.6.4 Terms
Terms in the Visual Effects workl ow may vary from those of the other
workl ows. It is important that teams understand how the other workl ows
uses 3D-related terminology. As with the other workl ows the most important
term you team needs to address is “good 3D.”
