proceeding from there. For example, your team inadvertently introduced the
issue of zoom mismatch during 10 frames of a i ve-second shot. Your team
can resolve this issue by reverting to the version of the shot prior to the
mismatch. If the issue has already been integrated into the show master,
the team must make sure the show master is updated with the corrected/
reverted imagery. Of course, this presumes that the managing team and the
person(s) responsible for the project management role in each workl ow is
keeping proper track of versions of inputs and outputs in each workl ow.
4.2 Types of Geometry Work
Depth grading is primarily a creative process; geometry correction primarily
a technical process. Teams in the geometry workl ow prepare imagery for
creative workl ows of editorial, depth and color. The good news is that many
geometry issues are relatively easy to correct. The bad news is that geometry
issues are rarely solitary. Just as with some household insects, if you have
one geometry issue, as nearly every production does, you are likely to have
more than one—even if you do not immediately spot it.
