use as reference for adding CG elements. Visual Effects teams provide elements
or completed shots to editorial to add to the show master. Final visual effects
integration and sweetening can be completed as part of editorial conform or
during digital intermediate and/or i nishing. The Visual Effects workl ow has
its own internal editorial, depth, and color sub-workl ows required to deliver

Edit Decision Lists
“The biggest difference between 2D and 3D post is that for the
criteria for what is and is not a good shot there are more things
to consider. When I i rst started with 3D I thought there was a very
big difference between 2D and 3D. The more I do this the more I
realize there really isn't a big difference as an editor. It's just that
with every shot as an editor you are making decisions. It's not only
just “does the shot work here?” You are evaluating the shot, was
it lit properly, is it in focus, is it shaky? There is a continual QC
going on. You are constantly evaluating the shot. You have more
on the list to consider.”
