5.90±1.38(%). Minimum value (2.72%) for soil organic matter was found during monsoon
months and the maximum value (7.89%) was found during winter months (Appendix A). The
recorded values of soil organic matter fluctuated in different seasons at a significant level
(p<0.05, Table 1). Significantly (p<0.05) higher value in winter and lower value in monsoon
was found in this study. The recorded values for soil organic carbon and soil organic matter
showed a similar trend in increase/ decrease throughout the study. The values were gradually
increased from monsoon towards winter that was slowed down in premonsoon again (Figure
15).
