In-Depth Information
As mentioned in the introduction to this topic, cloud computing
is increasing in relevance and becoming ubiquitious at the same
time. It is becoming key to the corporate and business world,
not to mention the IT world. The cloud provides infrastructure, platform, and services that
are critical to business needs. And like any other IT domain, it requires skilled and trained
professionals who can deploy, integrate, support, and manage cloud environments. One way
to demonstrate your ability in this area is to attain the CompTIA Cloud+ certification.
To achieve this certification, you need to pass the CompTIA Cloud+ exam (CV0-001).
The CompTIA Cloud+ certification is an internationally recognized validation of the
knowledge required of IT practitioners working in cloud computing environments. This
exam will certify that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to
understand standard cloud terminology and methodologies; to implement, maintain, and
deliver cloud technologies and infrastructures (e.g., server, network, storage, and virtu-
alization technologies); and to understand aspects of IT security and use of industry best
practices related to cloud implementations and the application of virtualization. Cloud+
certified professionals ensure that proper security measures are maintained for cloud sys-
tems, storage, and platforms to mitigate risks and threats while ensuring usability. The
exam is geared toward IT professionals with 24 to 36 months of experience in IT network-
ing, network storage, or data center administration. It is recommended that CompTIA
Cloud+ candidates have CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA
certification. It is further recommended that Cloud+ exam candidates have familiarity with
any major hypervisor technologies for server virtualization, though vendor-specific certifi-
cations in virtualization are not required.
This topic covers all the exam objectives, plus more, to enable you to pass the exam
and be successful in your career as a cloud systems administrator, cloud IT specialist,
cloud manager, and cloud architect.
Preparing for the Exam
Preparation is key to being successful. Now that you've read this topic and are ready to
pass the exam, it's a good idea to consider how the exam will look and feel so that nothing
takes you by surprise.
