Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) Testing GRC testing involves listing threats, vulner-
abilities, and risks associated with cloud computing (IaaS, Paas, and SaaS) and suggesting
controls assimilated from best practices in the industry.

Big Data Testing
Testing of big data technologies is emerging as one of the biggest and most important cloud
computing challenges. The problem is multifold as the organizations dealing with big data
resources struggle to find what to test and what the corresponding level of tests should be.
Thus, testing becomes all the more important to ensure correctness of the procedures and
operations involved in processing the data as well as maintaining high credibility internally
and externally (with customers who use or exploit the data resources, such as advertising,
marketing, etc.).
Functional and nonfunctional testing becomes part of the big data testing routine. This
also ensures that the whole process that is being performed on the raw data is within the
specified SLA. Figure 10.6 shows level-by-level focus areas of how big data testing should
be performed.
