In-Depth Information
Formal review (where all stakeholders must be present) of determined deliverables from
previous session.
Solution adoption plan (will take the longest because a plan to achieve each deliverable
must be well organized; requires a dedicated group with representatives from each stake-
holder group)
Workshop Attendees
When we say that everyone should attend the workshop, we obviously mean that everyone
needs to be represented. For example, the CIO or CTO is often too busy to attend long
workshops like this, so they should be represented by someone who shares their point of
view and objectives, including the relationship of those objectives to the organization's
business needs, directions, and initiatives as a whole as opposed to the departmental views
of other stakeholders like technical IT and customer support. Figure 4.2 shows a simple
diagram of the equal interaction of all stakeholders. All the views and ideas of each group
must be given equal weight.

Sponsor(s)
The workshop should be attended by the following people, without exception:
Executive Sponsor The executive sponsor represents the CIO/CTO's broader views for the
business objectives, initiatives, and future goals.
IT Staff IT leaders and technical staff members can provide the assembly with a clear
understanding of the organization's current state regarding the physical infrastructure as well
as the virtual and cloud environments. They also shed light on the technical capabilities and
knowledge of the general personnel as well as existing IT processes and procedures, roles,
and tools in the following areas:
Discovery Service design and assessment, architecture planning and design, capacity plan-
ning and evaluation, and service costs and pricing. The idea is to look for current hardware
and software assets in the environment together with the relationships between them.
Provisioning Cloud service catalog, hybrid cloud options, self-service portal, cloud and
IT service management integration.
