ate projects at that level. The government needs to fund these “grassroots” efforts and
to support the local initiative. Last, in connection with these efforts, the need exists to
start small and build up as the learning process begins and skills are acquired.
The future of the marshes can succeed only with the inclusion of the Marsh Ar-
abs and with sufficient water to support the ecological functions of the marshlands
(IUCN WCPA Ecological Restoration Taskforce 2012).
