PART III
Project Implementation
Part III refines your project plans and takes them into reality with the implementation. Whether
your project strategy is management oriented or construction or installation oriented, you need to
provide a carefully thought out document that explains what is to be done. Circumstances change
over time; changes may be necessary, and informing those who come after you will greatly assist in
the long-term management of your project.
Despite the fact that a lot of standard construction methods—such as earth moving, planting,
and sowing—are incorporated into a restoration project, your goal is not the same as an actual en-
gineering or landscaping construction job. Slopes do not need to be billiard table smooth and flat,
and plantings need not be in straight lines or evenly spaced. You can convey most of the desired
look in your document plans and specifications, but you will also need to have site inspection.
Depending on who is actually doing the work, you may need to train the workers to understand
the circumstances they are working in as opposed to traditional construction-type projects.
