25.2.4 Monitoring
To control the anchor loads, the displacements of the rock mass and the water level
in the slope, a comprehensive monitoring program was designed and conducted. This
program includes surface measuring points, anchor load cells, multiple-point rod exten-
someters, inclinometers and piezometers. This monitoring program was described in
Section 17.10.2 (Fig. 17.31).
In the course of final excavation, in spite of the successive installation of tendons, an in-
crease in horizontal displacements up to 12 cm was monitored (Figs. 25.16 and 25.17).
Also, the measured anchor loads increased with time until a state of equilibrium was
achieved (Fig. 25.18).
